Text banking is a quick and easy way to track your finances.
Managing account balances is a cornerstone of good financial health. By knowing how much you have in each of your accounts, you can help keep on track with your budget and avoid having your card turned down because of insufficient funds. Now, with Text Banking, you can quickly and conveniently check your account transactions on the go with your cell phone.
What you can do with Text Banking
This new service from Bank of America is a tool to view your account information and recent transactions for your bank accounts. Here is some of the account information you can get on your checking, savings and credit card accounts1:

- Get a list of recent transactions, including debit and credit card purchases.
- Request Credit Card current balance, credit limit, payment information and due date.
Here are several examples of how you can use Text Banking:
- Want to make a debit purchase but aren't sure you will still have enough in your account to cover other bills?
o Text "BAL CHK" plus the last four digits of your checking account (e.g., BAL CHK1234), and get a response with the available balance for your checking account.
- Want to check how much you spent on dinner a couple of nights ago?
o Text "HIST CARD" plus the last four digits of your credit card to get the five most recent transactions posted to your credit card account.
- Want to know the balances for your checking, savings and credit card accounts?
o Text "BAL", and save time by getting all your balances at once.
- Want to see your credit card bill?
o Text "BILL CARD" plus the last four digits of your credit card, and get your current balance, credit limit, payment due and due date.

Text Banking and Overdraft Services
Bank of America is making changes to help you avoid overdrawing your account and incurring overdraft fees with your debit card. When you use your debit card to make an ATM withdrawal or everyday, non-recurring purchase, if you do not have enough money in your checking or linked Overdraft Protection account to cover the transaction, the transaction will be declined. With Text Banking, you can check your available balance prior to making a debit card transaction to help avoid having your purchase declined.
